Iberian Peninsula of the North

Spain is a complex country, where many different "Spains" coexist harmoniously. Each has its own beauty, cultural personality and special climatic conditions, which make it unique. In general, we can divide it into northern Spain, which is lush and humid, central Spain, which is large and sparsely populated, bright and fertile southern Spain, which is famous as Andalusia, and finally the two "island Spains", the Balearic Islands with their Mediterranean climate and the Canary Islands with their imposing volcanic mountains. Portugal is washed by the vast ocean that has always caused a magic, an attraction. The great maritime adventures of the 15th and 16th centuries brought a new era to Portugal and Europe, an era of wealth, development, and the flourishing of the arts and letters. Until a few decades ago, Portugal was a mainly agricultural country. The development of industry, specialization in production, the quality of products and trade brought a new economic boom to the country. Ports, airports, highways and telecommunications were developed in parallel. Portugal is also a country with a long gastronomic tradition. The amazing cuisine, abundant seafood and wonderful wine are a challenge for culinary delights. The cosmopolitan character of the country finds its completion in the nightlife with the traditional fado. At this trip we will get to know northern and central Spain, as well as the central zone of Portugal, the Porto region.
